Grainger in Lake Forest, IL is seeking an Associate Category Manager to develop sourcing strategies for multiple sub-categories, manage spend and drive savings. The role reports to the Manager, Category Manager and offers hybrid work (Lake Forest or downtown Chicago) with about 15% annual travel for remote candidates.

You will lead RFX processes, negotiate master agreements, monitor market trends, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver cost reductions and value.

• Develop and execute sourcing plan for assigned sub-categories with spend under management of $20-100MM.
• Lead global sourcing, negotiate strategy, and finalize contracts with suppliers.
• Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on project statuses and market changes.
• Monitor supplier trends and benchmark costs with market intelligence tools.
• Identify continuous process improvements to increase efficiency and results.
• Execute buying activities for sourcing events and ad hoc requests.
