The Waymo Driver powers Waymo's fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases.

Waymo's Procurement and Vendor Enablement Office is a diverse, collaborative, and service-oriented group with a mission to efficiently procure indirect goods and services, build supplier relationships, and support outsourcing excellence to achieve Waymo's growth goals.

Our Indirect Procurement team supports the business by:

  • Leading strategic sourcing and category management for all non-production goods and services.
  • Building and managing strong, collaborative supplier relationships.
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to drive cost savings, mitigate risk, and ensure operational excellence.

In this remote role, you will report to our Head of Indirect Procurement.

You will:

  • Provide subject matter expertise and leadership on the categories you are responsible for including construction, operations facilities and the procurement of chargers, switch gears and other equipment to meet pressing demand schedules across our scaling operations.
  • In partnership with stakeholders, develop multi-year category strategies that maximize value creation for Waymo.
  • Lead the end-to-end RFX process, build relationships with strategic suppliers and oversee complex, Waymo-wide supplier relations, developing solutions to new problems and using foresight to anticipate future trends and issues.
  • Negotiate and draft agreements that minimize financial and business risk exposure, provide optimal terms and conditions, and enforce supplier accountability.
  • Analyze data to determine the value of negotiations and the final change in total cost of ownership.
  • Solve impactful multi-dimensional issues by implementing new processes, systems, or policies that address Waymo's indirect procurement needs.

You have:

  • At least 10 years of procurement experience including 7+ years focusing on physical security, facilities, or construction services spend areas.
  • Sourcing skills include: identifying sourcing opportunities, performing spend analysis, development of sourcing strategy, project management, development of RFX documents, negotiation, contract management, supplier benchmarking, contract compliance, purchase order development, resolution of payment issues, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all internal and external business contacts.
  • Ability to perform make versus buy outsourcing analyses and to develop total cost of ownership models.
  • Ability to influence others and to act as a change agent within their team and company.
  • High personal integrity and ethics.

We prefer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain or related field; or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Demonstrated track record for being innovative and able to quickly deliver significant and measurable results in a fast-changing organization.
  • Internal or external business consulting experience highly desired.
  • Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills and have a noticeable positive impact on the velocity and success of your teammates.

Please note that Waymo may not be able to employ remotely in all locations. The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is $190,000 - $241,000 USD. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo's discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
