GENERAL FUNCTION:

Responsible for analyzing Consumer Credit applications and information for Indirect Lending. Direct responsibility to underwrite secured and unsecured Consumer Lending products (i.e., indirect installment loans/leases) across multiple states, Affiliates or geographic regions. Provides superior quality service to internal and external customers (Dealership FI Finance & Insurance Managers, Affiliates, and vendors). Trains less experienced underwriters. Supports process improvements and business objectives. Accepts additional projects as assigned.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensuring that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Analyze consumer credit reports for consumer lending applications to evaluate risk and make appropriate credit decisions for Indirect lending across multiple states, Affiliates, or geographic regions.
  2. Review documents to support credit decisions (Dealer contracts, Verification of income, tax returns, and additional supporting documentation, etc.).
  3. Verify completeness and accuracy of credit applications.
  4. Formulate and communicate credit decisions (approve, decline or counteroffer) in compliance with established underwriting guidelines, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  5. Develop business relationships and build rapport with customers to achieve mutual goals across multiple states, Affiliates, or geographic regions.
  6. Manage application pipeline to meet business objectives.
  7. Review complex credit, declined, and pipeline applications and recommend appropriate actions to maximize production and meet service quality levels.
  8. Assist less experienced underwriters with structuring loans to maximize production and manage risk.
  9. Provide superior quality service to internal and external customers at all times and demonstrate professional demeanor.
  10. Consumer lending credit authority is commensurate with consumer lending authority guidelines and business needs.
  11. Review credit applications and recommend decisions on applications over their assigned authority to their manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • College degree in business or finance or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of consumer lending or related industry experience or a minimum of 3 years of consumer lending underwriting experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interact with Vice President level managers; build consensus; and motivate others.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of ACAPS.
Working Conditions:
  • Normal office environment.
  • Extended use of CRT screen and repetitive keyboard movement.
  • May require some overtime.

Salary Range: $47,100.00 - $94,200.00 USD annually.
