Job summary

Pinal County is expanding with multiple attorney positions across indigent defense. Attorneys will represent indigent clients, prepare cases, and manage caseloads through all court phases. The role includes felony, misdemeanor, juvenile, and civil mental health matters with focus on high-quality advocacy.

Positions require JD, bar admission eligibility, and ability to work under supervision. Excellent written and oral communication, plus strong ethics, are essential for success in this pivotal

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Must pass a thorough background investigation.
  • Arizona residents must have a valid AZ driver’s license upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality legal representation to indigent clients in defense and resolution of cases.
  • Assist in defense of cases, review legal documents, and prepare case facts.
  • Defend felony and misdemeanor cases, including juvenile delinquency and civil mental health matters.
  • Review evidence, interview witnesses, prepare memoranda, and conduct cross-examinations.
  • Represent clients at arraignments, hearings, and trials, negotiating and litigating as needed.
