Job summary

GAI Consultants Inc in Fishers, IN is seeking a Transportation Engineering Director and Indiana Market Leader to define strategy, lead client relationships, and grow the transportation practice across Indiana.

You will lead business development, pursue public-sector opportunities, and manage budgets, staffing, and project delivery with autonomy supported by a national network. Hybrid work, ~25% travel, PE preferred or eligible in Indiana.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• P.E. license in Indiana or eligible via reciprocity.
• 10+ years of progressive transportation and infrastructure experience.
• 7+ years of leadership managing teams and offices.
• Strong track record with public-sector transportation clients.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute Indiana transportation growth strategy.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with INDOT, municipalities, counties, MPOs, and agencies.
• Lead business development, proposals, interviews, and client presentations.
• Provide leadership for the Indiana office, including operations, staffing, utilization, profitability.
• Mentor and grow project managers, engineers, and staff across transportation disciplines.
