Job Description

The Trader is a senior level position responsible for overseeing a trading book and managing book risk, in coordination with the Trading team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure book trades deliver on budgeted revenues, and to coordinate with key stakeholders to develop the trading franchise.

Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee a trading book as a Senior trader and generate revenues and manage risk for the respective business
  2. Build and maintain a franchise and connect with key clients
  3. Coordinate with Sales, Research, CMand and other organizations across Markets and Securities Services and the broader business
  4. Trade a book and deliver on budgeted revenues and manage book risk
  5. Establish and maintain key relationships to deliver trades to the desk
  6. Anticipate client demand in each respective product/market and facilitate large client trades
  7. Coordinate with desk analysts as needed and with sales to develop the franchise and mentor junior traders
  8. Lead governance and controls, working with Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance to ensure proper governance
  9. Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance, ethics, and expense discipline
  10. Assess risk/reward of transactions, considering the firm’s reputation
  11. Adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
  12. Maintain all required registrations/licenses timely
  13. Evaluate risks in business decisions, ensuring compliance and ethical standards
Qualifications:
  1. 15+ years of experience in a related role
  2. Deep knowledge of products and clients
  3. Proven success in managing trading books
  4. Required licenses and registrations
  5. Strong analytical and numerical skills
  6. Excellent communication skills
  7. Effective relationship-building skills
  8. Knowledge of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocols
Education:
  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Master’s preferred
