Job summary

Northern Lights Locating & Inspection, Inc. seeks an experienced Utility Locator who can work independently within assigned territories and follow 811 laws to ensure safe and accurate utility marks.

You will read maps, GIS data, and as-built drawings, and use electronic locating equipment to mark utilities with paint and flags. Role requires documenting work via a mobile app and participating in an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years utility locating experience
• Knowledge of 811 dig laws and best locate practices
• Ability to read utility maps and GIS data
• Experience using electronic locating equipment and multiple locating methods
• Ability to document work via mobile app with photos/reports
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities in compliance with 811 laws
• Read and interpret maps, as-builts, and GIS data
• Use locating equipment and multiple methods to mark utilities
• Accurately mark utilities using paint and flags
• Document all work via mobile app with photos/reports
• Investigate and document excavation-related damages
• Participate in on-call rotation
