Job summary

Northern Lights Locating & Inspection, Inc is seeking an experienced Utility Locator to ensure compliant 811 marking and accurate underground utility locating. You will read maps, interpret GIS data, operate electronic locating equipment, and mark utilities with paint and flags.

This full-time position offers independence in your assigned territory, paid holidays, health insurance, a 401(k) plan, and opportunity to work on nationwide projects with modern locating technology.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years utility locating experience.
• Strong knowledge of 811 laws.
• Ability to pass drug screen.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities and mark with paint and flags.
• Read utility maps, as-built drawings, GIS data.
• Document work via mobile app with photos and reports.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
• Work in all weather conditions.
