Job summary

Northern Lights Locating & Inspection, Inc is seeking an experienced Utility Locator to cover nationwide projects and operate with minimal supervision. The role requires clean marking, knowledge of 811 laws, and the ability to work in all weather and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of 811 laws and best locate practices
• Ability to read and interpret utility maps, as-built drawings, and GIS data
• Capable of operating locating equipment and multiple locating methods
• Strong communication with excavators, property owners, and team members

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities in compliance with 811 laws.
• Read and interpret utility maps, as-built drawings, and GIS data.
• Use electronic locating equipment and multiple locating methods.
• Accurately mark utilities using paint and flags.
• Document work using a mobile app with photos and reports.
• Join an on-call rotation and travel as needed.
