Job summary

Northern Lights Locating and Inspection, Inc. is seeking an experienced Utility Locator in Fort White, FL 32038. You will locate underground utilities, read maps and GIS data, and mark utilities with paint and flags while documenting work via a mobile app.

The role requires 2+ years of locating experience, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work overtime and on-call shifts in a nationwide operation supporting critical infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years utility locating experience.
• Knowledge of 811 laws and best locate practices.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities in compliance with 811 laws.
• Read and interpret utility maps, as-built drawings, and GIS data.
• Use electronic locating equipment and multiple locating methods.
• Accurately mark utilities using paint and flags.
• Document all work using a mobile app including photos and reports.
• Investigate and document excavation-related utility damages.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
