Independent Title Land Agent 1099 Role

Overview

Do you enjoy travel, adventure, and building relationships? This 1099 Title Land Agent position within RWE's Land team offers an opportunity to travel across the Midwest, connect with stakeholders, and play a pivotal role in securing land for green energy projects. The Title Land Agent acts as a liaison for RWE Clean Energy in matters related to title research.

Responsibilities

1. Travel extensively (90%+) to project sites across the Midwest (specifically IN, IL, MI, WI).
2. Maintain and build strong relationships with courthouse personnel.
3. Perform research, qualify parcel ownership, mineral ownership, and overcome obstacles effectively.
4. Develop and implement research strategies with minimal supervision.
5. Provide regular updates on project progress to the Land Manager.
6. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the dormant minerals act, heirship issues, and subsurface reservations.
7. Utilize RWE technology to manage tasks and ensure smooth communication.
8. Ensure all reports are prepared flawlessly with accurate documentation.
9. Maintain clear and proactive communication with the RWE team.

Qualifications

1. Active LLC required for independent contractor status.
2. Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience preferred.
3. Minimum 5 years of experience in title research for renewable energy projects or related fields like real estate, title insurance, residential, commercial, or oil & gas.
4. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
5. Proficiency in identifying and overcoming objections and navigating complex situations.
6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
7. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
8. Flexible and adaptable to changing work schedules and remote locations.

Additional Information

• This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not eligible for benefits.
• Travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
• Location listed as Chicago, IL, but projects are mainly in the Midwest region.
