Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. in Virginia seeks a skilled Fitter Fabricator to perform layout, fit-up, and fabrication from complex blueprints.

The role requires MIG, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, and SAW welding in all positions to AWS D1.1/D1.5 standards, plus advanced torch and plasma cutting and precise measurement verification. The role supports independent work with minimal supervision, training junior fabricators, and participation in in-house AISC Layout &Fit-Up training.

Qualifications

• Advanced blueprint interpretation and reading complex fabrication drawings.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven fabrication experience and hands-on welding proficiency.
• Inhouse training of AISC Layout & Fit-Up Training.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced layout and fit-up activities.
• Perform MIG, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, SAW welds.
• Weld in all positions to AWS D1.1 and D1.5 standards (1G, 2G, 3G, 6G).
• Perform torch and plasma cutting operations.
• Read and interpret complex fabrication drawings.
• Independently operate hand saws, mag drills, and fabrication equipment.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Assist with training junior fabricators.
