Job summary

Grocery Outlet invites entrepreneurial individuals to become Independent Operators, owning and running their own store with the backing of a strong retail brand. This is not a franchise; you maintain autonomy while leveraging Grocery Outlet resources for success.

You will oversee operations, hire and train staff, manage buying and merchandising, and engage with the local community to build a profitable, customer-first store.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of retail store management or multi-unit restaurant management experience.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for retail and customer service.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to build and develop a team.
• Business acumen including financial and operational management experience.
• Willingness to relocate and commit to training/onboarding.
• Drive to succeed and ability to work independently with Grocery Outlet support.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations to ensure profitability and growth.
• Recruit, hire, and train a high-performing team for customer service excellence.
• Manage buying and merchandising to meet local community preferences.
• Engage with the local community and support causes aligned with our mission.
• Maintain financial performance including sales, margins, and expenses.
