Job summary

A behavioral health organization is seeking a Recreational Therapist to work as an Independent Contractor in North Central Indiana. The ideal candidate will provide therapeutic services to individuals with intellectual disabilities, deliver engaging recreational activities, and develop individualized treatment plans. Responsibilities include working independently to manage a caseload and collaborating with support teams. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, CPR & First Aid certification, and a CTRS credential. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including daytime and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Reliable transportation to and from clients' location.
• Experience working as a Recreational Therapist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one recreational therapy.
• Assess client needs and develop treatment plans.
• Document services provided in accordance with Medicaid requirements.

Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities

Ability to work independently

Knowledge of HIPAA privacy standards

Education

Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
