Job summary

SilverRide in Indianapolis seeks reliable driver companions to provide door-through-door paratransit services for older adults and individuals with mobility challenges. You will partner as an independent contractor to help riders reach medical appointments, social activities, and other outings.

Applicants must be 21+, hold a valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean record, and be willing to undergo background checks, fingerprinting, and drug/alcohol testing.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license for minimum 3 years with clean record.
• Must pass Federal Transit Authority and state drug/alcohol tests.
• Willingness to be fingerprinted and pass a criminal background check.
• No felonies or charges involving violence; not on the National Sex Offender Registry.
• SilverRide credentialing related to senior condition, ADA, safety and transfers.

Responsibilities

• Provide door-through-door paratransit service to riders.
• Assist riders getting in and out of the vehicle and ensuring their safety.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and follow safety regulations during trips.
• Communicate with riders and coordinators to schedule and complete rides.
