Job summary

MRG Exams is seeking a board-certified Ophthalmologist (MD or DO) to join our team as an Independent Medical Evaluator. You will conduct impartial evaluations and author reports to support claim adjudication and case management.

Travel within Ohio is required. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations per Ohio BWC guidelines, performing PPIR ratings, documenting findings within timelines, collaborating with internal teams, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

We are seeking a board-certified Ophthalmologist (M.D. or D.O.) to join our team as an Independent Medical Evaluator.

Job Description

As an IME Provider, you will conduct impartial comprehensive medical evaluations, assess permanent partial impairment, and author objective narrative reports to support claim adjudication and case management. While some specialized onboarding is provided, relevant clinical experience and a strong willingness to learn are essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough medical evaluations and assessments in accordance with Ohio BWC guidelines and regulations.
• Perform Permanent Partial Impairment Ratings accurately and objectively using the 5th Edition AMA Guidelines.
• Document findings and provide clear, concise reports within established timelines.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the highest level of service to our clients.
• Maintain compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
• Represent the company with professionalism and integrity in all interactions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Board-certified Ophthalmologist (MD or DO).
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Ohio or a state contiguous to Ohio.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
• Prior experience with IME/impairment rating exams preferred but not required.
