Responsibilities
- The Independent Living Skills Coach/Mental Health Worker works as part of an Intensive Residential Treatment Services team that provides care, treatment, and rehabilitation for persons experiencing significant mental health/psychiatric symptoms, demonstrating significant functional impairments, and possibly having co-occurring disorders.
- Provides assistance to persons served to promote their physical, social, and psychological well-being.
- Interacts frequently and positively with persons served and support staff to promote their rights and enhance their quality of life.
- Assists Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioners with various needs.
- Follows agency procedures to promote health, safety, and behavioral supports for persons served.
- Performs administrative duties such as scanning, faxing, and organizing.
- Oversees meal preparation and grocery shopping.
- Maintains cleanliness of the environment.
- Transports clients as needed.
- Manages food and cleaning budgets.
- Provides group and individual services for clients.
- Teaches clients independent living skills.
- Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with various teams.
- Manages financial aspects of daily operations following established practices.
- Ensures compliance with training, licensing regulations, and company policies.
- Administers and monitors medication.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Manages the therapeutic environment to prevent crises and escalate care appropriately.
- Develops and participates in community and in-house recreational activities.
- Completes all required documentation to ensure quality services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- GED or High School Diploma with 2,000 supervised hours delivering services to adults with serious mental illness.
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited institution is preferred.

Salary Range
USD $21.00 - $21.50 per hour
