Job summary

Inspired Living Inc. in the Hayward area is seeking a compassionate Independent Living Instructor to work one-on-one with clients in homes and communities, helping them master essential life skills and live more independently.

This part-time role requires at least 6 months in human services, strong communication and organization, and a valid CA driver’s license. You’ll travel to clients, assist with appointments and errands, and keep clear records with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• 6 months of experience in human services or supporting people with disabilities.
• Fluent in English or Spanish; bilingual preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• High school diploma or GED.

URGENT NEED - Hayward Area

Location: This position serves clients throughout Alameda County. The role is not limited to San Leandro, or Hayward only.

Day Schedule — sessions are generally scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

• Services are provided one-to-one on a weekly schedule, generally between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Days and session length are based on each client's needs, and hours can vary. Availability across the week helps us match you with clients.

As an Independent Living Instructor, you’ll work one-on-one with clients in their homes and communities—helping them master essential life skills like personal care, health maintenance, social engagement, money management, and more.

What You Bring:

• A heart for service and a passion for helping others grow
• At least 6 months of experience in human services or supporting people with disabilities
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Fluency in English or Spanish (bilingual preferred)
• High school diploma or GED

Must Haves:

• Valid CA driver’s license, reliable & insured vehicle, and clean driving record
• Willingness to drive clients to medical appointments, social outings, and other essential activities
• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification (if not already certified)
• Ability to pass a background check
• Availability for at least three four-hour blocks per week, on at least three separate days, between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
• Ability to travel up to 30 minutes each way to a client's home or community
