Job summary

JEVS Human Services invites applications for a community-based Community Support Counselor serving the Independence Network. You will build rapport with individuals, help them pursue goals, and teach independent living skills within home and community settings in Camden, Burlington, or Gloucester counties.

You will mentor social skills, coach volunteering or employment opportunities, and assist community engagement tailored to each member’s interests.

Responsibilities

• Develop a rapport with assigned individuals and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship
• Contribute to plans that support individuals to pursue their goals and dreams
• Teach independent living skills and develop strategies the individual can rely on to continue to grow in their independence
• Provide guidance and mentoring to support social skills
• Coach individual(s) to establish volunteer opportunities or paid employment
• Assist individuals to engage in community activities that match their interests
