Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Test & Inspect Technician to independently perform inspection, testing and basic troubleshooting of fire alarm systems. This role requires documenting results, identifying deficiencies, and traveling to job sites as needed.

Applicants should have 3+ years in the fire and life safety industry, knowledge of NFPA 72, and the ability to work without direct supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years in fire/life safety as a technician.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable codes.
• NICET Level I or above preferred; able to work without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform fire alarm inspections and testing per NFPA standards.
• Document inspection results and identify deficiencies for repair.
• Carry out device activation, system checks, and alarm verification.
• Interpret drawings, maintain tools, and travel to sites as needed.
