Job summary

Milton CAT Power Systems in Vermont is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain power generation and electrical systems at customer sites. You’ll work independently with a fully equipped service truck, supported by a team of engineers and managers to keep critical equipment online.

Responsibilities include interpreting schematics, performing maintenance, and documenting service reports.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with power generation, electrical systems, or engine systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
• Experience troubleshooting generators, engines, or power equipment.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical schematics.
• Proven ability to work independently in the field.
• Strong customer service mindset.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Your own tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair power generation and electrical systems.
• Service engines, generators, switchgear, and related equipment.
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Perform maintenance, testing, and system adjustments.
• Install, repair, and support critical power systems at customer sites.
• Complete service documentation and inspection reports.
• Manage your service calls and work independently in the field.
• Respond to occasional after-hours or emergency service needs.
