Job summary

UPMC Chautauqua is seeking a full-time Sonographer to join our Imaging team in Jamestown, NY. The role involves independent ultrasound procedures, patient-centered care, and high-quality diagnostic imaging with rotating shifts including weekends.

Candidates will be placed on the career ladder based on education, experience, and leadership discretion. A sign-on bonus may be available with work commitment. You will work with RIS and ISITE systems to ensure accurate documentation and billing.

Qualifications

• Experience performing a range of ultrasound procedures with independent judgment.
• Ability to communicate procedures clearly and reassure patients.
• Demonstrates professional conduct and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Operates ultrasound equipment and documents results per protocol.
• Assists physicians with invasive procedures and adheres to universal protocol.
• Explains procedures to patients and helps allay fears; elicits cooperation.
• Identifies patients using two identifiers and reviews orders; follows departmental protocols.
• Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures and correlates findings with history and labs under physician supervision.
• Maintains teamwork with colleagues to expedite patient care and provide compassionate service.
• Ensures exams are coded and captured in RIS and ISITE for accurate archiving and billing.
• Obtains clear image documentation across body planes and correlates measurements with anatomy and computer data.
