Job summary

Oak Hill is seeking a Residential Program Worker to implement policies designed to enhance independence and quality of life for individuals with disabilities. The role operates under the supervision of the Group Home Manager and Program Supervisor in a residential setting.

The RPW assists with daily living activities, medication administration, transportation, and community integration while maintaining safety, confidentiality, and compliance with DDS and licensing standards.

Responsibilities

• Becomes familiar with and implements Oak Hill's policies and procedures to assist individuals with disabilities in activities of daily living.
• Provides information for program maintenance and evaluation, collecting and recording data as required.
• Maintains participants' cleanliness and well-being, helping with personal hygiene and daily living tasks.
• Promotes positive social behaviors by implementing individual behavior support plans.
• Implements programs following applicable policies to pursue program goals and objectives.
• Prepares materials for participant-related activities to support program implementation.
• Keeps updated on participant programs, policies, and regulations affecting services.
• Promotes health by supervising medication administration and noting changes in behavior or appearance.
• Ensures safety by teaching safety measures and supervising participants at all times.
• Applies first aid and CPR in emergencies and follows evacuation procedures.
• Assists with lifting and transferring using designated equipment and guidelines.
• Facilitates community integration by transporting participants to work, appointments, and activities.
• Teaches meal preparation and assists with meals per menus and dietary guidelines.
• Maintains a clean and hygienic environment in living spaces and bathrooms.
• Shop for clothing, groceries, and household supplies as needed.
• Monitors funds and manages petty cash for participants.
• Maintains participants’ clothing through laundering and basic repairs.
• Ensures safety on driveways and walkways by removing hazards such as snow.
• Initiates activities to encourage participant participation in programs.
• Supports staffing by filling vacancies and staying late when needed.
• Attends team meetings to monitor and evaluate progress and inform care planning.
• Meets training guidelines and participates in orientation and ongoing staff development.
• Adheres to Oak Hill policies, DDS regulations, and federal licensing requirements; interacts professionally with all stakeholders.
• Assists in orienting new employees to ensure consistency during transitions.
• Acts as a role model for residents and maintains confidentiality of participant information.
• Contributes to team effort by achieving related results as needed.
