Job summary

TILL, Inc. in Danvers, MA is seeking an Independence Assistant to provide one-on-one support to a male client, promoting independence, daily living skills, and community engagement. The role combines home-based and community-based activities, including transportation and skill-building.

Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–4:00 pm, with a full-time commitment and $21 per hour. The position emphasizes safety, patience, and strong communication as you help the client grow toward living

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to work independently in a 1:1 setting.
• Experience with individuals with behavioral needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good time-management and organizational skills.
• Dependable, patient, and community-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist the individual with morning routines and preparation for work.
• Provide transportation to and from the TILL Farm.
• Act as a support for the individual and others during activities at the farm.
• Assist with errands, appointments, and community-based activities.
• Support development of independent living skills, including organization and daily task management.
• Encourage growth toward living independently in an apartment setting.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment at all times.
• Implement appropriate safety care strategies as needed.

Description

TILL provides essential support to adults with developmental disabilities, learning differences, acquired brain injury, and other specialized needs through a wide range of housing options—from structured, staffed, small group living to individualized support options. The Independence Coach (Assistant) offers one‑on‑one support to a male client to promote independence, daily living skills, and community engagement. This role involves both home‑based and community‑based support, including transportation and skill‑building activities.

Responsibilities
