Job summary

Siemens in Wendell, NC is seeking an Incoming Quality Inspector for the Receiving Inspection team on the 1st shift. This position will inspect incoming materials for Production Solutions, working with logistics to ensure supplier quality.

Hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with an hourly rate of $22.46. Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience inspecting electrical and mechanical components, reading blueprints, and using tape measures and calipers.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience inspecting electrical and mechanical components.
• 1+ years reading mechanical blueprints.
• 1+ years inspecting welded components using welding symbols/tolerances.
• 1+ years using tape measures, calipers, and height gauges.
• Basic proficiency in English (reading/writing/speaking).
• Proven record in quality and productivity.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate inspection tools with peers and ensure calibration status.
• Collaborate with purchasing and engineering to resolve non-conformances.
• Drive continuous improvement within the team and other departments.
• Work with SAP, Salesforce.com and Microsoft Excel.
• Adhere to safety rules and promote safety first.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.
• Be a strong team player.

We are looking for an Incoming Quality Inspector for our Receiving Inspection team on the1st shift. This position will be based at our Wendell, NC facility.

This inspector position is responsible for performing incoming material inspection duties on our Production Solutions products, working alongside our logistics team to ensure and verify supplier quality.

Shift Hours: 6:00AM- 2:30PM

Hourly Rate: $22.46

Basic Qualifications:

• 1+ years’ experience with inspection of electrical and mechanical components
• 1+ years’ experience with reading and understanding mechanical blueprints
• 1+ years’ experience with inspection of welded components using welding symbols/tolerances per mechanical blueprints.
• 1+ years’ experience working with tape measures, calipers, and height gages
• Basic proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Proven record in Quality and Productivity
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment within the United States without the need for current or future employer - sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Residential or commercial electrical and mechanical education or certifications
• 1+ years of prior work experience in warehouse receiving and inspection
• Forklift experience

• Works with purchasing and engineering teams to resolve non-conformances with material that will be used in finished goods
• Drives continuous improvement activities with own team and other departments

• Must adhere to all safety rules and keep safety first for self and others
• Perform miscellaneous other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management
