Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC is seeking an Incoming Quality Coordinator Lead to oversee intake, verification, compliance, and release of externally sourced materials. This onsite role partners with Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing to drive process improvements and ensure product quality.

You will lead cross-functional teams, review supplier documents, manage nonconformances, and guide material disposition.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in incoming quality, supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or a related technical environment.
  • Experience coordinating quality processes and driving cross-functional problem solving in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of quality management principles, supplier quality requirements, and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience utilizing ERP, inventory management, quality management, and reporting systems.

Incoming Quality Coordinator Lead - Onsite

Job Summary

The Incoming Quality Coordinator Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the processes governing the intake, verification, compliance, and release of externally sourced materials, components, and assemblies entering the organization. This role serves as the primary point of contact for incoming quality activities and provides leadership in ensuring supplier compliance, material traceability, documentation integrity, and adherence to quality standards. The position partners closely with Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to drive process effectiveness, resolve complex quality issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives that protect product quality and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate incoming quality processes for externally sourced materials, components, and assemblies to ensure compliance with company quality standards and operational requirements.
  • Review and evaluate supplier documentation, including certificates of conformity, inspection reports, material certifications, and shipping documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and traceability.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for incoming material discrepancies, nonconformances, and documentation issues, working cross-functionally to facilitate timely resolution and corrective actions.
  • Analyze incoming quality data, supplier performance trends, and nonconformance metrics to identify risks, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to Incoming Quality Coordinators and other team members regarding receiving quality procedures, documentatio…and material disposition processes.
  • Exercise independent judgment in determining material release status within established quality systems, procedures, and escalation protocols.
  • Coordinate the routing and disposition of incoming materials requiring further evaluation, inspection, containment, or corrective action.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve receiving quality procedures, work instructions, compliance documentation, and record‑retention practices.
  • Prepare and communicate quality reports, performance metrics, and trend analyses to Quality and Operations leadership.
  • Support supplier quality initiatives, audits, corrective action activities, and quality management system compliance efforts.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects focused on incoming quality performance, material traceability, inventory accuracy, process efficiency, and supplier compliance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality leadership to resolve complex issues that may impact production readiness or product performance.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in incoming quality, supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or a related technical environment.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating quality processes and driving cross‑functional problem solving within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of quality management principles, supplier quality requirements, and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience utilizing ERP, inventory management, quality management, and reporting systems.
  • Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities, manage competing demands, and make sound decisions independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across technical and operational functions.
  • Proven experience supporting audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within motorsport, automotive, aerospace, or other high‑performance manufacturing environments.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or similar quality certification.
  • Familiarity with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC, and supplier quality management methodologies.
  • Experience supporting ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or equivalent quality management systems.
