Job summary

TSMC Arizona is seeking an IMQR Engineer to join our 5-nanometer fab in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on incoming materials quality, supplier quality management, and collaboration with Operations/Fab to evaluate new materials and develop technology.

Ideal candidates have advanced degrees and experience in chemical manufacturing or semiconductor environments, with strong project management, communication, and leadership skills. Travel is expected 10-20% onsite.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Material Science, Material Engineering, Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or related fields.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing, chemical synthesis, filtration, and purification.
• Experience in supplier quality/technology management.
• Semiconductor manufacturing/engineering experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities within a team and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Incoming materials quality and technology management.
• Execute and implement the division’s mission of material quality excellence.
• Collaborate with Operations/Fab on supplier/material evaluation and new technology development.
• Supplier quality management including quality system assessment, audits, change control, excursions, variation reduction, and continuous improvement.
• Facilitate the infrastructure of the incoming material quality assurance system and coach domestic suppliers on TSMC quality requirements.

TSMC Arizona’s Incoming Material Quality & Reliability Department is responsible for Incoming materials quality, supplier quality management, domestic supply chain quality development.

Job Description

Your main responsibilities include:

• Incoming materials quality and technology management.
• Execute and implement the division’s mission of material quality excellence.
• Collaborate with Operations/Fab on new supplier/material evaluation, material problem solving and new technology development.
• Supplier quality management including quality system assessment, on-site audit, process change control, excursion prevention, variation reduction and related continuously improvement programs.
• Key project: Facilitate the infrastructure of the incoming material quality assurance system. Coach domestic suppliers on TSMC quality requirements to match process of records.

Minimum Qualifications

• Masters or Ph. D in Material Science, Material Engineering, Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or related fields.
• Prior experience in the chemical manufacturing industry, or expertise with chemical synthesis, filtration, and purification.
• Prior experience in supplier quality/technology management.
• Prior experience in semiconductor manufacturing/engineering is a plus.
• Demonstrated performance as a self-starter who can manage multiple priorities within a team environment and meet scheduled commitments.
