Job description

Scope:

Responsible for analyzing the night audit work; checking for completeness and preparing the daily sales journals and reports; and researching and resolving all discrepancies. Also involves extensive familiarity with front office system and point of sales systems as well as cashier training.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Analyze all daily night audit work for accuracy and completeness.
• Verify allowances and miscellaneous postings for proper authorization and coding.
• Supervise the Night Audit and General Cashier staff.
• Post the daily sales journals to the general ledger.
• Investigate discrepancies and develop procedures to eliminate them.
• Print, verify accuracy and distribute daily revenue reports by 9:00 am daily.
• Communicate with night audit and outlets about questions or problems with regard to posting that have an effect on the creation of the sales journals.
• Balance city, guest and deposit ledgers.
• Balance room package and hotel guest charges.
• Balance credit card accounts for full payment of submitted items.
• Balance AP charges on a monthly basis.
• Responsible for cashier training.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of property management and point of sale systems.

Education/Experience:High School graduate or general education degree (GED); college level Accounting classes or equivalent; Accounting degree a plus; 2 years Accounting or related field experience.
