University of California, Davis seeks an Assistant Professor of Teaching in Aging and Adult Development to lead undergraduate courses in the HDFS program and to promote health and wellbeing across diverse populations. The appointee will teach up to six courses per year, advise students, and help develop curricula with an eye toward equity and inclusion.

Qualifications

Ph.D. or equivalent in a field of Psychology, Human Development, Gerontology, Social Work, Sociology, Nursing, Education, or similar at the time of appointment.
Experience in and/or knowledge of best practices for providing equitable education and fostering learning across students with different backgrounds and learning styles.
Ability to promote inclusive excellence in teaching across the department’s faculty by leading workshops on best practices.
Contributions to scholarly teaching and learning, curricular development, and service activities.

Responsibilities

Teach up to six undergraduate courses per year in HDFS curricula as assigned by the department chair.
Contribute to student advising, curricular development, and committee participation.
Develop, implement and assess new pedagogical initiatives and a discipline-based pedagogical research program.
Lead the scholarship of teaching and learning activities within the department.
