Job summary

The Department of Human Ecology at the University of California, Davis is recruiting an Assistant Professor of Community and Regional Development to advance equitable economic development and planning. The role emphasizes collaboration with diverse government, business, and civic organizations to maximize public impact.

This is a 9-month tenure-track position with an AES appointment, including teaching three courses per year and responsibilities in mentoring, outreach, and service.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent in urban, rural and/or regional planning, community development, human geography, sociology, public policy/ administration, applied economics, international development, social work by time of appointment.
• Applied research and/or professional experience collaborating with diverse government, business, and civic community organizations to maximize public impact.

Responsibilities

• Establish a competitively-funded research program addressing sustainable and equitable economic development.
• Teach a typical courseload of three courses per year across undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Mentoring, advising, and curricular development at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Engage in outreach and public engagement programs and university service.
