Job summary

North Lawndale College Prep is seeking a Paraprofessional for a 12-month position to support teachers and staff in delivering academic, behavioral, and social-emotional instruction to students, including those with IEPs.

Under supervision of a certified teacher, you will reinforce learning objectives, assist with small-group instruction, manage classroom behavior, and help students access full participation.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or better preferred and Illinois Paraprofessional Certification required.
• Experience with students with IEPs or special needs preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration with staff required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reinforcing learning objectives set by classroom teachers through individual and small-group instruction.
• Support students in reading, writing, math, and other academic content areas, using strategies aligned with students' IEP goals or general education standards.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials and support technology-based learning tools.
• Assist in administering, scoring, and tracking student work, assignments, and assessments.
• Help adapt classroom activities and lessons to meet students' individualized needs.
