Job summary

Logan County School District’s Auburn Elementary School is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support diverse learners and implement instruction aligned with state and district standards.

This salaried position reports to the principal, requires a Bachelor's degree and a valid Kentucky teaching license, and offers 185 contract days on the board-approved salary schedule. Immediate starting date with collaborative culture and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education and valid state teaching licensure or eligibility.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills for collaborating with families and staff.
• Experience teaching is preferred but not required; passion for working with children is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state and district standards.
• Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Administer formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Regularly communicate with parents/guardians about student performance and concerns.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, school staff and administrators to support the school’s mission.
• Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices in education.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
