Qualifications

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with endorsements in appropriate grade and subject levels.
• Or, minimum of a Bachelor's degree and MTTC tests for endorsements.
• Ability to use technology as an instructional tool in the classroom.
• Exemplary work habits verified by reference check.
• Thorough understanding of IDEA, IEPs, and 504.

Responsibilities

• Accepts responsibility for the achievement of students.
• Implements the IEP in the least restrictive environment; prepares for annual IEPs.
• Prepares for three-year re-evaluations; schedules meetings.
• Writes effective Behavior Plans.
• Guides learning toward curriculum goals and personal learning plans.
• Plans and organizes instruction effectively.
• Selects materials and adapts to learning styles.
• Uses creative instructional methods and adapts to unusual situations.
• Motivates students to reach their highest potential.
• Works with teachers to include the Inclusion model.
• Uses resources to support learning in class, academy, and community.
• Demonstrates excellent classroom techniques.
