Job summary

Capital City is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional aide for the 2026-2027 school year. The 10-month, non-exempt position supports differentiated instruction and student well-being under the guidance of teachers and special education staff.

Responsibilities include supervising students, modeling language, coaching core values, and maintaining behavior/learning observations. A criminal background check is required for all hires.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have 30 credit hours towards a degree or a high school diploma with Paraprofessional Certification.
• Experience working with students with disabilities; autism experience preferred.
• Spanish-speaking candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of differentiated instruction under guidance of classroom and special education teachers.
• Engage with, or closely supervise, the assigned student at all times.
• Model appropriate spoken and written language skills.
• Coach the assigned student in Core Values and social problem-solving.
• Maintain documentation of student work and behavior.
• Support positive student behavior and classroom culture per Behavior Intervention Plan as needed.
• Ensure student safety and well-being during the day and maintain safe ratios.
