Job summary

Jefferson County Schools is seeking a PreK Teacher for Jackson Elementary in Charles Town, West Virginia. You will teach approved preschool curriculum and strive to ensure readiness for entrance into kindergarten, under the supervision of the principal.

The position is full-time with a minimum 200 days annually; compensation follows the Jefferson County Teacher Salary Schedule and is commensurate with experience and education level.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate/licensing to teach in the specified specialization and grade level as per WV Code §18A-3-2.
• Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10; meet WV Code qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Implement the preschool program as outlined in WVDE Policy 2525.
• Plan and implement JCPS Pre K curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.
• Use appropriate technology strategies in instruction.
• Observe, record, and analyze children’s progress toward developmental outcomes.
• Collaborate with interventionists, share data, identify student needs and support targeted interventions.
• Provide a developmentally appropriate learning environment and individualized activities for children.
