Job summary

Hamilton County Schools seeks a dedicated Pre-K teacher to design an inclusive program aligned to TN-ELDS and district standards. You will deliver language, literacy, math, science, SEL, and physical development instruction to a diverse student population.

You will serve as the special education case manager, coordinating IEPs, progress monitoring, and family communication while collaborating with related service providers. A Tennessee teaching certificate with dual endorsements is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required.
• Tennessee teaching certificate with dual endorsements in Special Education required.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable.
• Experience in inclusive early childhood or integrated Pre-K settings preferred.
• Experience serving preschool students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement an inclusive Pre-K program aligned to TN Early Learning Developmental Standards (TN-ELDS), district curriculum, pacing guides, and Tennessee Special Education Pre-K Scope of Services.
• Provide whole-group, small-group, and individualized instruction across language development, early literacy, math, science, social-emotional learning, physical development, art, music, and dramatic play.
• Serve as case manager for students with disabilities, including participating in referrals/evaluation, facilitating IEP meetings, and developing/monitoring IEP goals.
• Collect and analyze ongoing data on IEP goals and developmental progress, including progress reports and ECOs.
• Communicate regularly with families about progress on goals and collaborate with related service providers to integrate services.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records for general and special education, including IEP documentation and timelines.
• Implement district, state, and federal policies including IDEA and Tennessee regulations.
• Engage families as partners in general and special education processes.
• Coordinate with paraprofessionals/assistants and support staff to ensure coordinated instruction.
• Maintain discipline and safety in the classroom in accordance with guidelines.
