Job summary

Harlandale Independent School District in San Antonio, TX seeks a Special Education Assistant (Pre-K Inclusion) to support students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom, help implement IEPs, and assist with self-help, behavior management, and instructional activities under the supervision of a certified teacher.

This full-time, nonexempt position reports to the campus principal and teachers, pays $18 to $25.38 per hour, covers 187 calendar days, and requires a high school diploma

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate’s degree or 48 college hours for eligibility.
• Must meet criteria to obtain a Texas educational aide certificate.

Responsibilities

• Help meet the individual needs of students including physical and instructional support.
• Assist with implementation of IEPs, self-help and behavior management.
• Work under supervision of principal and certified teachers.
• Monitor and support students inside and outside the classroom, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duties.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in professional development as assigned.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
