Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in West Chester, PA seeks a Physical Education Teacher with a passion for working with students needing emotional support and behavioral health services. You will ensure student safety, plan PE activities, and maintain gym readiness, while supporting PBIS initiatives.

The role offers a structured, supportive environment, small class sizes, and opportunities to engage with students across multiple classrooms and diagnoses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Secondary Education or related field with Instructional I Certification.
• Emergency certification available.
• PE or Special Education teaching experience preferred; experience with emotional support/behavioral health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all students.
• Plan, organize, and implement physical education activities for all students.
• Prepare the gym daily for scheduled activities.
• Serve as a lifeguard during the summer months at an outdoor pool.
• Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives.
