New Bedford Public School District seeks a Building Based Substitute Teacher at Normandin Middle School in New Bedford, MA to cover classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher.

The role emphasizes inclusive education and student safety, with collaboration among staff and families. Ideal candidates are committed to diversity and supporting a positive learning environment in a dynamic urban school setting.

Qualificações

• Minimum of 60 college credits required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience working with children.
• Strong knowledge of technology including MS Office, video conferencing, Teams, Google, shared platforms, and education-specific software.
• DESE license certified candidates receive higher rate differential.

Responsabilidades

• Provides students with a positive learning environment to support their intellectual, social, and emotional growth and development
• Delivers instruction and implements lesson plans in line with District’s goals to ensure success for all students
• Supervise students in school-related settings
• Maintains routines and procedures of the school and classroom
• Supports students in whole class, small group and individual settings using various teaching methods
• Adapts instruction delivery to best meet the needs of all students
• Communicates with students, staff, and families
• Follows and supports all District and school policies, rules, and procedures
• Meets with appropriate Administrator and becomes oriented to school policies
• Supervises students to ensure their safety and welfare
• Reports student-related injury, accident, illness, discipline problem to Administration
• Reports in writing on the day’s activities at the conclusion of each teaching day
• Participates in all District-provided Professional Development
• Maintains confidentiality of the position including all student and school personnel information
• Other related duties as assigned by the building administrator
