Job summary

The IDEAL School of Manhattan is seeking an Associate Teacher for the High School to join an inclusive education program. The three-year Associate Teacher program partners with established teachers, therapists, and administrators to develop into a lead classroom role.

Responsibilities include co-teaching, differentiating instruction, and supporting students’ executive functioning and social-emotional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Willingness to learn in an educational environment.

• Desire to contribute time and talent outside therapy sessions to student growth.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a co-teaching team in an inclusive classroom to implement differentiated curriculum and routines.
• Becoming familiar with and implementing individual goals of assigned students within class contexts.
• Partner with lead teachers, related service providers, and other professionals on support strategies across settings.
• Implement differentiated materials designed by the lead teacher to support access to the curriculum.
• Communicate proactively with the family of the assigned student.
• Attend meetings as required by the school.
