Inclusive Fitness Instructor with a Playful & Shame-free Attitude

Job Description

We have an opening for a fitness instructor, ideally who can teach group fitness and personal training. We understand these are two different skillsets, so you are welcome to focus on just one role!

Our group fitness instructors are knowledgeable about anatomy and movement to safely coach clients through progressions and regressions. Our diverse clientele participates in classes focusing on core strength, mobility, and joint stability exercises. Classes are small (max 12 people), dynamic, joyful, and foster a loyal community.

Our personal trainers are compassionate, believe in their clients' potential, and develop evolving plans tailored to individual needs and goals, employing the NASM OPT model with adaptations to ensure consistency and support among trainers.

We are seeking a fitness instructor who is:

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading fun, engaging group fitness classes
  • Assessing clients' movement and developing personalized programs
  • Providing individual attention and modifications for safety
  • Building relationships within our community
  • Aligning with our brand, vision, and mission
  • Offering feedback and participating in program development
  • Attracting and retaining clients
  • Teaching in person and via virtual platforms (Zoom)
  • Maintaining equipment and studio cleanliness
  • Finding substitutes when needed

This position is NOT for you if you:

  • Run sessions like a drill sergeant
  • Use body shaming or diet culture comments
  • View exercise as punishment or a chore
  • Think workouts should be serious only
  • Don’t like to have fun

Job Requirements:

  • Availability for classes on Tuesdays at 6:15 pm, Thursdays at 6:15 pm, and Saturdays at 9:00 am
  • Availability to substitute at other times
  • Availability for personal training sessions on weekdays and optionally Saturdays
  • Certification from recognized organizations (NASM, NSCA, ACSM, NCSF, ACE, AFAA)
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Liability insurance
  • Minimum one year experience
  • Degree in a related field is a plus
