Job summary

Young World Physical Education in Franklin, North Carolina, is seeking an Exceptional Children’s Teacher to provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities. In this full-time position, the teacher will develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and work collaboratively with general education teachers and service providers.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Special Education, possess a valid North Carolina teaching license in Exceptional Children, and demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion in education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid North Carolina teaching license in Exceptional Children (EC).
• Knowledge of IDEA and NCDPI EC policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
• Support students in developing independence and life skills.

Skills

Knowledge of IDEA, NCDPI EC policies

Understanding of various exceptionalities

Ability to design and implement specially designed instruction
