Job summary

The WECP Teacher at the Waisman Center serves in a full-day, year-round preschool for children ages 1–6, including those with special needs. The role involves preparing classroom lessons, facilitating programs, and assessing progress to ensure safety and development in line with the Creative Curriculum.

Collaboration with parents and training of new teachers are key responsibilities. A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field is preferred, with licensure

Qualifications

• Wisconsin Registry with Teacher qualifications required; minimum Registry Level 3, Level 12 or higher preferred.
• Candidates must meet teacher qualifications per DCF 251 Licensing.

Responsibilities

• Mentors new teachers and students.
• Maintains and documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and updates of child activities per guidelines.
• Maintains the safety and well-being of children in the classroom.
• Plans and facilitates classroom programming and daily activities according to established curriculums.
• Evaluates individualized/developmental educational plans for children with stakeholders as needed.
