Job summary

Northeast Arc's Recreation program invites you to help people participate in active recreation and social events across community sites in Danvers, MA. The Recreation Specialist will implement and manage programs, work with staff, and support participants with disabilities to enjoy yoga, fitness classes, dances, and outings.

This role requires Friday and Saturday availability, with additional weekday shifts as needed.

Qualifications

High School diploma or college courses preferred.
Experience with individuals with disabilities or autism preferred.
Must maintain a safe work environment.
Compassionate about recreation and programming.
Strong verbal and written communication.
Problem-solving and ability to work independently.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Able to be mobile and on your feet for 30 minutes+.
First Aid, CPR, Safety Care (willingness to certify).
Must pass background checks.

Responsibilities

Implement and manage community-based programs and events in collaboration with leadership.
Schedule, organize and lead community recreation programs.
Support individuals with disabilities in participating in activities.
Prepare and maintain detailed program records and reports.
Maintain a safe program environment per policies.
Work weekends and other non-traditional schedules as required.
Foster an inclusive environment where differences are celebrated.
