Job summary

Little City is seeking an Art Center Educator and Coordinator in Schaumburg, IL. The role focuses on fostering an inclusive studio environment, providing instruction, and coordinating daily operations and community engagement.

You will support participants, plan classes, and manage exhibits and partnerships, promoting artistic growth and access to materials for adults with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated creativity and hands‑on artmaking passion.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
• Ability to complete DSP training within 120 days.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license if operating agency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Designs and plans classroom activities and curriculum for current and future participants.
• Schedules art classes, workshops, and exhibit opportunities with the Director.
• Explores development of a creative social enterprise for art accessibility and education.
• Maintains supplies within budget and supervises staff/volunteers.
• Oversees gallery operations and point‑of‑sale processes.
• Documents artist compensation and maintains artwork records.
• Collaborates on events, displays, and marketing content.
• Represents the agency with professional public relations at events.
