Job summary

The WOW Center Miami is seeking a Sports & Fitness Instructor to create engaging, inclusive, and adaptive fitness experiences for adults with developmental disabilities. You will plan and lead structured programming that promotes activity, skill development, and confidence.

You will tailor activities for varying abilities, track individual goals, maintain documentation, and collaborate with the program team to ensure a safe, positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in field related to special education or equivalent experience.
• Good written and spoken communication, public relations and problem-solving skills.
• Able to use computer programs and other software related to classroom.
• Management and administrative skills to organize and execute programs.
• Consistently reliable and dependable.
• Able to drive a 12-14 passenger van under WOW insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Health, safety, and welfare of individuals served and on community trips.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Establish a positive classroom environment and routines to facilitate learning.
• Develop and implement sports/health activities to promote healthy living and skills.
• Develop instructional plans to enhance independence in daily living and community activities.
• Weigh individuals monthly and track progress, documenting outcomes.
• Collaborate with program staff and participate in IPP and Support Plan meetings.
