Responsibilities

• Meet and instruct assigned classes at the assigned school and times designated by the Principal.
• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Lessons are aligned to standards and represent a coherent sequence of learning.
• Lessons have high levels of learning for all students.
• Assist students in taking responsibility for learning and monitors student learning.
• Provide multiple ways for students to make meaning of content.
• Manage a learning-focused classroom community; create a conducive learning environment.
• Manage classroom space, time, and resources effectively.
• Create and maintain a classroom of respect for all students.
• Engage in professional learning; possess a growth mindset.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with families/guardians.
• Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Encourage students to set high standards of classroom behavior.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and communicate objectives.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media.
• Implement district philosophy and goals.
• Assess student progress and provide reports as assigned.
• Identify and report potential learning disabilities and provide progress reports.
• Maintain safety and confidentiality.
• Maintain dependable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Education and administration.
