Job summary

ServingSchools is seeking an Inclusion Specialist for MSAD 11 at Gardiner Regional Middle School. The role focuses on leading schoolwide systems to support inclusion and the least restrictive environment, while developing and maintaining IEPs and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in special education, educational leadership, administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a teacher of students with disabilities.
• Hold Maine Certification for Teacher of Children with Disabilities (282) and CHRC authorization.

Responsibilities

• Establish a system to monitor and ensure compliance with all special education timelines within Child Find, Evaluation, and IEP processes.
• Advocate for least restrictive environment (LRE).
• Proactively engage with the IEP team (IEP).
• Analyze and synthesize evaluation data to aid in determining eligibility and programming needs.
• Assist in identifying necessary evaluations to address referral questions and aid in eligibility discussions.
• Collaborate with staff regarding MTSS, eligibility, and compliance.
• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with all team members, parents, and the community.

Required Qualifications

Candidate must have a master’s degree in special education, educational leadership, administration, or a related field; minimum of 3 years’ experience as a teacher of students with disabilities and hold a (282) Teacher of Children with Disabilities State of Maine Certification and current CHRC authorization through the State of Maine Department of Education.

Preferred Qualifications

Maine Department of Education certification as one of the following: Assistant Administrator of Special Education (035), Administrator of Special Education (030), Building Administrator (040), or Assistant Building Administrator (045).

Description

MSAD 11 is looking for an Inclusion Specialist with a strong background in special education to lead the upkeep and creation of schoolwide systems and methods that support inclusion and the least restrictive environment for all special education students. This person will also complete the maintenance and development of IEPs and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the policies, rules, and regulations set by federal, state, and local guidelines.

Responsibilities

Teacher Pay Scale (2025-2026) Pending Negotiations

Placement on the scale is dependent upon degree and experience.

• BS MS CAS: Level 1 $44,276 $46,712 $48,814
• BS MS CAS: Level 17 $75,110 $79,242 $82,808

Plus a $10,000 administrator stipend.
