Job summary

Evonik Lafayette site is seeking an Emergency Services Officer and Captain to serve as Incident Commander during all emergencies. You will manage safety for employees and visitors, provide medical treatments, and support the site’s ESHS programs.

The role requires a high school degree, a bachelor’s preferred, 5–7 years in emergency response in pharma/chemical manufacturing, and state certifications. This is a 12-hour shift position with demanding physical tasks and exposure to hazards.

Qualifications

• High School degree required.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
• 5–7 years' experience in emergency response, preferably in a pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain daily briefing from co-workers and command staff.
• Assist in developing daily shift activity plan.
• Provide mentorship to ERT personnel.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings.
• Provide Incident Command at all site emergencies.
• Provide EMT medical coverage for the site.
• Complete day-to-day assigned activities and inspections.
