Job summary

Buckhead & Newport Meat and Seafood in Lakewood Township, NJ is seeking a Warehouse Selector. Under general supervision, you will read customer orders, select products by slot and description, and assemble orders onto pallets in the correct sequence, attaching labels as needed.

You will operate an electric pallet jack to move between slots and transport products to the dock for staging, while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Adherence to GMP, SQF, and hygiene policies is required.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• Six months of prior warehouse experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read customer orders from label screen and select product by slot and description.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets in the proper sequence; attach labels on product.
• Operate an electric pallet jack to move to correct slot locations and transport products to the dock for staging.
• Handle products with care to limit damage.
• Report any damage of merchandise, equipment or facility to a supervisor.
• Perform daily equipment checks.
• Assist in cleaning and sign off on daily cleaning areas as assigned by supervisor.
• Sign in and out for equipment used.
• Use basic communication skills to understand work systems and instructions.
• Comply with GMP, personal hygiene and SQF policies as described in training manuals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, accurately & efficiently select products in the warehouse and prepare them for shipping by stacking in an orderly and stable configuration while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Read customer order from label screen and select product by slot & description.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets in the proper sequence. Attach labels on product.
• Properly operate an electric pallet jack (2-pallet length) to proceed to correct slot location, and transport product to dock area for staging.
• Handle products with necessary care, so as to limit the damage.
• Report any damage of merchandise, equipment or facility to a supervisor.
• Perform daily equipment checks.
• Assist in clean-up of the facility and sign off on the daily cleaning area that the supervisor may assign to Selector.
• Sign in and out for all equipment when used by the associate.
• Use basic communication skills to understand work systems, instructions, etc.
• Adhere to all applicable GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), personal hygiene, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) policies and procedures as described in the European Imports – Sysco Food Safety Training Manual.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is required.

Experience: Six months of prior warehouse experience is preferred.

Additional Skills: Ability to handle up to 80 lbs.; 20 lbs. regularly is required.

Working Conditions

An environment with temperatures of 0, 35, 65 degrees and ambient temperatures.

Supervision Received

General supervision is received from the Day or Night Assistant Warehouse Manager.
